ABSTRACT: Abortion is an issue that has been discussed for decades. Nowadays a new abortion on request system is being discussed for implementation in Spain, keeping two of the previous assumptions for longer. This article analyzes the content of sexual and reproductive health, the women’s rights and the protection of the unborn under International Law. Besides, it studies the constitutional Spanish case law and the essential difference that a system based on terms sets, the medical ethics concerning this matter and the requirements of the informed consent. Eventually, the article deals with the problem of the minors’ consent for sexual union and abortion.
